Nagin: Producer Nikhil Dwivedi REVEALS why he chose Shraddha Kapoor as his snake woman; says, 'She can be a girl-next-door one day and sensuous woman the next' [Exclusive] | Bollywood Life

A new snake-shifting, anthropomorphic franchise titled Nagin in the works, and the return of serpentine women, backed this time by a huge scale, state-of-the-art graphics and a substantial budget has got everyone interested about the series, being planned as a trilogy. Another thing about Nagin that has set tongues wagging is its casting choice, precisely that of its eponymous part, for which Shraddha Kapoor has been zeroed in on. No doubt an immensely popular face and arguably the biggest star among the new crop of actress, we were still keen to know what else worked in favour of Shraddha bagging the coveted role, and got the perfect opportunity to get to know more about it in a recent exclusive interview with the trilogy’s producer, Nikhil Dwivedi. Opening on why he was confident of Shraddha Kapoor being the perfect choice for his Nagin, Nikhil Dwivedi said, “I think Shraddha is one of those very few actresses who has a unique quality, where she can be a girl-next-door one day, and the next day she can turn into an absolutely sensuous woman — it’s like the turn of a switch. That really appeals to me and I feel, especially given this story, she can be ordinary one day and a superhero the next. That really works for me.” Also Read – ‘Anurag Kashyap is working on it, he has one or two contenders in mind,’ producer Nikhil Dwivedi opens up on his Kill Bill adaptation [Exclusive]

When probed about whether Shraddha displaying these traits in the blockbuster, Stree, also worked to her advantage, he added, “No, no…not really. To me, when I was thinking of Shraddha, it didn’t even occur to me. You know, I just knew that somehow Shraddha just fit into the whole thing.” Also Read – Nagin: ‘There’s a Spider-Man and Wonder Woman; I have a woman from folklore with the same kind of superpowers,’ says producer Nikhil Dwivedi [Exclusive]

Well, we, too, can’t wait to see Shraddha Kapoor as a serpentine-transforming lady.
