“Mapping out your finances in an organised and structured way can help reduce any immediate anxiety you may have at the news of a pay freeze.
“The spreadsheet should help you to identify if you are on track with your current salary to be able to afford any significant upcoming investments – if the Chancellor is imposing a pay freeze for your sector, get smart with your finances to identify where this money could be made up instead.
“That can include both cutting costs and – if you’re already in a comfortable position – making savvy investments.
“Perhaps it’s time to change your energy provider or opt for a cheaper broadband package, or maybe go for non-branded items on your food shops.”
