Nigella Lawson sparks frenzy amongst ‘flabbergasted’ fans as she mispronounces 'microwave'

A fourth said: “Only Nigella could possibly make Banana Skins look tasty. I looked in horror at first but by the end I felt like racing into the kitchen and giving it a go.”

Another wrote: “Yes the banana skins looked gross… and I am not tempted to try them as I can’t stand aubergine either.. but I love the programme.”

Nigella became aware of the scepticism over the dish, and responded to the tweets by reassuring fans the ingredient would make the dish “divine”.

She typed: “Thank you, everyone, for your lovely comments. I will reply to as many as possible tomorrow. 

“For now… let me just say 1) I hope I didn’t traumatise you too much with the banana skins (I promise you the curry is divine) and 2) I’m very grateful for your all-round gorgeousness xx.”
