Nokia teases launch event on October 6th: Nokia G50 5G smartphone, T20 tablet expected |

HMD Global has scheduled a launch event for October 6th, 2021, where it is likely going to announce the rumoured Nokia G50 5G smartphone as well as the Nokia T20 Android tablet. HMD Global has taken to Nokia Mobile’s Twitter handle to post a teaser for the upcoming event. In the image attached, we find some revisited feature phones from Nokia as well as some Android models arranged in a queue. At the end is a rather large box, which indicates the new product is a tablet.

Nokia G50 5G smartphone, Nokia T20 tablet specifications (expected)

The Nokia G50 5G smartphone is expected to feature the MediaTek Helio G80 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM. It is likely that there might be other variants with up to 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The device will also pack in a 4,800mAh battery and a 6.8-inch HD+ display. Nokia G50 5G will also play host to a 48MP main camera Some leaks have also uncovered Nokia branded TWS earphones, suggesting that the Nokia G50 5G will be sold with these bundled together in some markets.

Alongside the Nokia G50 5G, the T20 Android tablet will also see the light of the day. The Nokia T20 tablet will carry a 10.36-inch display. However, not much is known about the rest of the hardware. But given its expected price, which is EUR 185 (approx Rs 16,300) for Wi-Fi only models and EUR 202 (approx Rs 17,800) for Wi-Fi + LTE models, we can make an educated guess. If Nokia chooses to go with Qualcomm, the T20 might be running a Snapdragon 4xx SoC. However, healthy rumours also suggest that Nokia might plonk in a chipset from Unisoc, the exact model is still unknown. It will likely be paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The Nokia T20 will be Nokia’s first tablet after the N1 Slate that was released in 2015.
