Oti Mabuse: Strictly pro admits 'I haven't seen my husband in over seven weeks'

Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse, 30, has been wowing audiences with her impressive routines alongside her celebrity dance partner Bill Bailey, 55, on the BBC show. The Latin champion has since opened up about her marriage with her husband Marius lepure in a new interview.

Oti first met her spouse Marius in Germany during a dance trial and the pair soon tied the knot in 2012, before having another wedding ceremony in South Africa a couple of years later.

The Strictly star is currently in a social bubble during her time on the latest series of the BBC show.

Oti revealed she is yet to see her husband since her time on Strictly 2020 began.

Speaking about the festive season, the professional dancer admitted that her perfect present would be to spend time with Marius.

When quizzed about what she hoped Christmas will bring, Oti gushed: “A puppy! Also, time with my husband.

“I haven’t seen him for over seven weeks now, so that would be the best gift.”

Her comments come after each couple in the competition – consisting of the celebrity and their professional partner – formed a bubble due to COVID-19.

This means that one half lives alone while the other can remain within their original household.

“It’s grey, but everything on TV is very Christmassy,” Oti added.

Meanwhile, Oti and Bill stunned audiences with their impressive dance skills on Strictly at the weekend.

The dancing duo performed an Argentine Tango to a number from Phantom of the Opera.

Their routine was part of Musicals Week on the reality dance show.

Oti and Bill received an impressive score of 24 points from the Strictly judges putting them in fourth place on the leaderboard.

Andrew Lloyd Webber praised their performance as he took to Twitter.

He wrote: “That was fantastic. Huge well done @BillBailey and @OtiMabuse! – #TeamALW.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One at 7.25pm.
