Patrick Grant: The Great British Sewing Bee star talks romance after split from designer

Patrick Grant is best known for his role as one of the judges on The Great British Sewing Bee, making his show debut in 2013. The BBC star, who also works as a fashion designer, rarely discusses his personal relationships.

The 49-year-old opened up about being considered a “weird crush” by fans on social media, as he admitted he is flattered by the compliment.

Speaking in an interview last year, Patrick addressed his love life and said he would be happy if a relationship came along.

Patrick, who split from his partner, the accessory designer Katie Hillier, four and half years ago, gave an update on his relationship status.

Addressing being considered a sex symbol, he commented: “I’m happy to be a crush figure, but I’m not sure why the ‘weird’.

“I know moustaches aren’t to some people’s tastes, but I’m not such a terrible-looking human, am I?”

He added to The Times: “It’s all flattering.”

The Great British Sewing Bee judge went on to discuss his home life and said he is not actively seeking a relationship.

“If a relationship comes along that works with the tightly constrained amount of time that I have, of course I’d be happy,” Patrick commented.

The couple used to divide their time between her homes in Marylebone and Oxfordshire.

It’s unclear for now whether Patrick is in a relationship.

Katie is a British fashion designer, who specialises in bags and accessories.

She launched her own jewellery label, Hillier, in 2010.
