Piers Morgan: GMB host pleads with Charlotte Hawkins to stop 'trashing' his reputation

Piers Morgan, 55, snapped at his Good Morning Britain co-star Charlotte Hawkins, 45, for “trashing him” in a recent interview she did with OK! Magazine regarding life on the ITV flagship news program. The controversial presenter has earned himself a notable popularity – both good and bad – over the years, but Charlotte wanted the public to know he’s not as mean as some may think.

But it seems Piers wanted to hide behind the smoke screen and joked that her kind words were “trashing” his reputation.

Taking to Twitter alongside a snapshot of the magazine article, he posted: “For goodness sake, @CharlotteHawkns – how many times do I have to tell you NOT to trash me like this in public.”

The title of the piece read: “I don’t want to ruin Piers’ reputation, but he’s actually nice!”

Following the revelation, fans rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts.

His co-host Susanna Reid laughed: “[Someone who] you used to box with.”

Piers added: “It was as tense as you would imagine with Mr Clarkson and I.”

His co-star went on to probe: “When was the last time you and Jeremy Clarkson were in the same room together?”

The controversial presenter seemed to confirm there would be no more warring to come from the famous duo, saying: “We sort of kissed… we didn’t kiss and makeup, we bear-hugged and had a big night out at my local pub, and drank ourselves to oblivion and declared peace after a 10-year feud.
