Piers Morgan warned Jack Grealish will not join Arsenal because of him


Piers Morgan has been warned that his plea for Jack Grealish to join Arsenal will only put the Aston Villa star off a move to the Emirates. Following Sunday’s 2-1 loss to Wolves in the Premier League, Arsenal fan Morgan tweeted his wish that the Gunners signed England international Grealish in the January transfer window.

Grealish has had a strong start to the season, having scored five goals and assisted five more in nine Premier League appearances.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have only won one of their last six league matches and sit 14th in the table.

Morgan tweeted off his personal Twitter account that Arsenal should splash out on Grealish in the upcoming winter window.

“Arsenal should break the bank for @JackGrealish in January,” Morgan wrote.

“First of all I think Piers Morgan saying that is going to put Jack off a move anyway because during the lockdown, Piers Morgan hammered him in the media,” Agbonlahor said on talkSPORT.

“So I think Piers Morgan is not helping Arsenal to try and get him anyway because I don’t think he’s a big fan of Piers.”

Grealish broke lockdown rules just days after the restrictions were put in place in March.

The midfielder issued an apology but speaking on Good Morning Britain at the time, Morgan was not having any of it.

And Agbonlahor doesn’t think Grealish should join the Gunners, even if Morgan had kept quiet.

He added: “But for Arsenal now, look where Arsenal are. If he ever wanted to leave Aston Villa I’m sure he’d be looking at a lot better teams than Arsenal.

“But this season Aston Villa have tied him down, will there be bids in the summer?

“I’m sure they’ll be bids in the summer but Aston Villa have got rich owners who don’t need the money off a sale of Jack Grealish.
