Sales of the Alto in the Indian market have been falling.

Synopsis

In April-May FY22, the mini segment sold 33,775 cars, compared with the compact hatchbacks that garnered 136,670 units. In FY21, Maruti’s bestsellers in the entry hatchback market, Alto and S-Presso, saw demand dipping by 9.36%. The compact-car segment posted a lower decline of 7.33%. From Baleno to Swift, Maruti’s premium hatchbacks are ruling the roads.
