PS5 India Restock Pre-Booking Tips and Tricks

Despite the numerous runs of restocks and pre-bookings the PS5 has gone through in India, several potential customers have had a fair amount of trouble in actually getting their hands on Sony’s latest console. With the new slate of pre-bookings right over the horizon, here’s everything that could potentially help you in getting a PS5, and hopefully, it will be a painless experience for everyone involved.

Know Where to Pre-Book From

The first thing to keep in mind is which stores are actually offering PS5 pre-bookings. While simply having links to the store is all well and good, it’s also important to keep in mind that not all stores treat their customers equally. There has been quite a bit of discussion on social media platforms, as well as the PS5 community in India about various retailers, so talking to people there might end up being more helpful than just having every possible store page open at the same time.

Know Your SKU

The PS5 is available in two distinct forms: the standard edition and the Digital Edition. It’s worth keeping in mind that both versions are the same under the hood. The standard edition PS5 is priced at Rs. 49,990, while the PS5 Digital Edition is priced at Rs. 39,990. The only difference is that the PS5 Digital Edition lacks a Blu-ray disc drive, meaning that your only option to buy games would be through the PS Store. Concerns for video game preservation and history aside, the biggest bonus of grabbing a PS5 Digital Edition would be the price tag, which is Rs. 10,000 lower than the regular edition. Suffice to say, if it doesn’t matter which PS5 you get, best to have separate browser tabs open to grab either in the event one of them sells out.

Don’t Be Afraid of Bots

We don’t mean that you should be using bots to overload store pages—that’s illegal. Rather, there are a few bots created by enterprising members of the community that keep a track on PS5 stocks at different retailers. Even if you manage to miss the initial 2-second window when pre-orders go live, keeping an eye on some of these bots might help you find a retailer that happens to have stocks of the console still up for grabs. While by no means a guarantee, using bots like could turn out to be quite useful.

PS5 Bundles: The Pros and the Cons

Despite Sony’s attempts to the contrary, some stores will insist on selling a PS5 alongside bundled games and accessories that customers may or may not be interested in.

While the customer should, by all accounts, have the right to buy the console without any strings attached, others might actually be interested in picking up games and accessories alongside their shiny new console. It could be well worth your time to actually consider some bundles that might be available to see if you can also get your hands on games that you were planning on buying anyway. Within reason of course, we’re not suggesting that you spend for three games, a controller, and a media remote just to get your hands on a PS5.
