PS5 India Restock Pre-Order Tips and Tricks

Trying to find a PlayStation 5 during the current shortage is hard, and every little bit of preparation counts. Here’s everything you need to know about preparing for the dreaded PS5 pre-order rounds in July 2021.
PS5 India Pre-Order Links – Don’t Rely On Just One Store
Since almost every store starts accepting pre-orders at around the same time, it’s best not to rely on just one store. Every PS5 India restock has seen extremely high traffic on each of these stores, with many going down almost immediately after restock period begins. As such, we recommend having multiple tabs open for each store.
Here are all the retailers where you can buy a PS5 during the July restock.
- Flipkart – Rs. 49,990 (Disc) / Rs. 39,990 (Digital)
- ShopAtSC – Rs. 49,990 (Disc) / Rs. 39,990 (Digital)
- Games The Shop – Rs. 49,990 (Disc) / Rs. 39,990 (Digital)
- Amazon India – Rs. 49,990
- Vijay Sales – Rs. 49,990 (Disc) / Rs. 39,990 (Digital)
- PrepaidGamerCard – Rs. 49,990 / Rs. 39,990 (Digital)
- Croma – Rs. 49,990 (Disc) / Rs. 39,990 (Digital)
- GameLoot – Rs. 49,990 (Disc) / Rs. 39,990 (Digital)
This will mark the third time that the PS5 Digital Edition will be available for pre-order in India after missing the first couple of restocks. This time though, the digital-only console will not be exclusive to Sony’s ShopAtSC store and instead will be available across all major retailers.
PS5 Disc vs Digital Edition – Which One’s The Better Value?
The regular PS5 (disc) console costs Rs. 10,000 more than its digital counterpart, but is it worth the extra cost? Getting a digital-only console could cost more in the long run when PlayStation’s store policies are taken into account and the pricing of console games in India. While PS5 disk edition owners can turn to the used games market for saving money on recent games, PS5 digital edition owners can only buy games from the PlayStation store. This comes with its caveats, with the biggest being regular differences in the pricing of games. The PlayStation store hosts many sales throughout the year, but the discounts seldom compete with the prices of physical copies you’ll find in the used games market. If you have a ton of PS4 games on disc, say goodbye to playing them on the PS5 digital edition.
Ultimately, it will come down to the individual customers on whether the physical or digital version suits their needs.
