PS5 Spider-Man Miles Morales Patch Improves Ray Tracing

Insomniac Games has released a new patch for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales that improves the quality of ray traced reflections on the PS5 version of the game. The new patch version 1.10 introduces the usual bug fixes but also increases the RT reflections in the “Performance RT” graphics mode, which runs at 60fps with a dynamic resolution near 1440p.

It’s a similar story to how the studio increased the resolution of RT reflections in the recently released Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart right before release. It looks like the studio has applied the same techniques back to Miles Morales. Will we see Miles Morales get the same treatment with a 120 Hz mode as we saw with Rift Apart this week? Who’s to say?

If there is one thing that’s clear, it’s that Insomniac Games is only competing with itself with regards to the amount of performance optimizations on top of already polished PS5 games. Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is perhaps the first PS5 game, or even the first in this entire generation, to have four performance profiles, and it won’t be surprising if Miles Morales will boast the same soon enough.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is out now on PS4 and PS5 for Rs. 3,999.
