R Madhavan speaks up on the North-South films row; Here’s what he has to say

R Madhavan is one of Bollywood’s most gifted actors. Madhavan, who has had his taste of success down South, recently shared his insights on the ongoing North-South films row.

In a conversation with a leading entertainment portal, he spoke about why he doesn’t understand the “hue and cry” surrounding the language debate in the film industry. He went on to elaborate that there is never a success formula of which films are going to be successful or bomb at the box office. He reiterates that if South films have been doing well and making great collections, then there are countless Hindi films that have also tasted success at the box office.

He says, “Finding a formula there is not possible. I think the weak ones are trying to see a pattern in it. The idea is to make films that are aspirational enough to bring the audience to the theatres. Some films may not have worked as they may have fallen into the pandemic bracket. That’s all there’s to it. Why have we become a country that wants to make news about everything?”
