Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal warned Novak Djokovic wants key record more than they do

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have been warned that Novak Djokovic wants to win more Grand Slam singles titles than they do. Federer and Nadal currently sit top of the list in terms of most men’s Grand Slams singles titles won. The pair both have 20 to their name following Nadal’s 13th French Open triumph in 2020.
Djokovic is three behind on 17 but is six years younger than Federer and a year younger than Nadal.
The Serbian’s last Grand Slam success came at the 2020 Australian Open – his ninth title at Melbourne Park.
Marc De Hous, the former Belgian player and coach of four-time women’s Grand Slam singles champion Kim Clijsters, says all three male players will be keen to end their careers as the leading star of the men’s game.
However, he reckons Djokovic will harbour that ambition the most.
De Hous told Nieuwsblad: “All three would love to get that record number of Grand Slams behind their names, but Novak Djokovic is really working hard on that.”
De Hous also discussed the debate of who is the greatest male player of all time.
And he suggested Nadal’s preference to play on clay could be to his detriment in the argument.
“Whether Rafael Nadal is the best of all time remains a difficult question,” De Hous added.
