Romain Grosjean crash: Lewis Hamilton emotional statement after horror Bahrain GP incident
Lewis Hamilton has spoken of his gratitude at seeing Romain Grosjean walk away from his horror crash at the Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday. The race on Bahrain was red flagged during the opening lap after a huge crash on the main straight, which saw a car burst into a huge fireball.
It was initially hard to see through all the fire who was in the barriers but cameras soon picked it up as being Grosjean’s Haas.
There was huge relief early on as Grosjean was spotted being able to climb out of the car.
Replays showed the Frenchman had clipped the front end of Daniil Kvyat’s AlphaTauri before careering off the track and hitting the barriers head on.
His car split in two with flames quickly engulfing the vehicle.
