Saira Banu thanks PM Narendra Modi for his gracious morning condolence call


On Wednesday, July 7 – Dilip Kumar passed away after a prolonged illness and left a huge void in our industry. The superstar was a living institution when it came to acting. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his social media and expressed his grief over Dilip Kumar’s device. It wasn’t only a tweet that the PM shared on social media but he even made a call to Dilip Saab’s wife Saira Banu and shared his condolences.

Saira Banu shared this piece of information on social media through Dilip Kumar’s Twitter account. PM Narendra Modi had tweeted saying, “Dilip Kumar Ji will be remembered as a cinematic legend. He was blessed with unparalleled brilliance, due to which audiences across generations were enthralled. His passing away is a loss to our cultural world. Condolences to his family, friends and innumerable admirers. RIP.” Replying to this tweet Saira Banu said, “Thank you hon’ ble @PMOIndia Shri @narendramodi ji for your early morning gracious phone call and condolences. -Saira Banu Khan.”

The actor was buried last evening in Juhu, Mumbai with full State Honours. Dilip Kumar’s legacy will remain forever. All his colleagues from Amitabh Bachchan to Shatrughan Sinha, from Helen to Madhuri Dixit have shared their grief and acquainted us with their memories of the great man.
