Samantha wakes up in a mysterious land in the first glimpse of Yashoda

We have good news for Samantha fans everywhere. The actress released a teaser for her upcoming film Yashoda on Thursday. Samantha awakens in an unknown location with no recollection of where she is in the video. She looks out the window and extends her hand, reaching for a bird, when the camera zooms out into a sort of maze and the text Yashoda appears on the screen. Samantha captioned the video she shared: “Very excited to present to you the first glimpse of our film.”

Yashoda is a science fiction thriller written and directed by Hari Shankar-Harish Narayan and produced by Sridevi Movies. The film, which also stars Unni Mukundan and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, is set to be released on August 12.

Samantha will soon begin work on a project titled Arrangements Of Love with Downton Abbey director Philip John. Samantha will play a bisexual character who runs her own detective agency in the film.

Samantha was most recently seen in Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, alongside Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara. She will also appear in Shaakuntalam. She recently revealed the first look from the latter. Last year, the actress made her big digital debut with The Family Man 2 and garnered attention for her role as Raji. The actress has also appeared in films such as Manam, Ye Maaya Chesave, Autonagar Surya, Majili, and Oh Baby, to name a few.
