Stumbling upon a freebie is always a welcomed surprise, but acquiring one of such large value only comes with active freebie hunting, as Ms Dawe explained. When Ms Dawe heard about Reevoo, a company that focuses on collecting reviews by giving out free appliances, she left a review on a washing machine that she had previously purchased in the hopes of being spotted by the marketing company.

Reevoo partners with many reputable manufacturers, such as Panasonic and Bose, and provides the companies with reviews in return.

This provides the companies with valuable insights on their clientele and how their products are received, trading valuable insights.

Ms Dawe explained that Reevoo contacted her to review a Hisense ULED 4k Smart TV, which was delivered to her home within three weeks.

“They asked me to fill in information about my household income, what size TV I already owned, and my home address,” she commented.

While reviewing the product certainly didn’t cause Ms Dawe to break a sweat, getting on Reevoo’s radar for a freebie this large comes after years of leaving reviews online.

“Shop online and always leave reviews,” she said.

Deepak Tailor, founder of LatestFreeStuff.co.uk, one of the UK’s biggest freebie websites commented:

“Laura shows that anything is possible with freebie hunting.

“A brand new flat screen is way out of budget for most people, but it’s clear that just writing a few reviews is an easy way of getting splurge-worthy products totally for free.”

Mr Tailor also commented on Reevoo’s impact on both companies and customers: “Reevoo makes it really simple to test the newest products – even offering home delivery to customers like Laura.

“Writing a review is quick and easy, so it’s definitely worth it for anyone who is in the market for a new home appliance and is willing to spend a few minutes sharing their opinion.”

Simply leaving a review for items you may be purchasing anyway increases your chances of being spotted and contacted by review companies, although freebies as large as Ms Dawe’s are rare.

Meanwhile, some local entrepreneurs and small business owners may be looking to giveaway some of their product in return for a simple social media promotion or a good review.

Alongside the free items, it could also mean helping someone’s small business grow.

Ms Dawe also attributed getting the valuable freebie to being part of Facebook groups, which allowed her to stay up to date with the latest promotions and freebie opportunities.

The majority of giveaways provided by manufacturing companies are usually limited to a number of customers.

So, by joining these Facebook groups, Ms Dawe gave herself the best possible chance of finding not just this TV but a variety of promotions and special deals.
