Match preview

Chelsea have already qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League but would secure top spot with a win over Sevilla this evening.

Frank Lampard thinks Sevilla will be tough to beat away from home but has challenged his side to impress him.

“I think they are a fantastic team,” said Lampard ahead of tonight’s return fixture.

“We felt that when they played at Stamford Bridge, it was a difficult match for us.

“They have a really great coach, it is very evident when you watch his teams play that he is a top coach, with the style of the team, the work he must do behind the scenes.

“They have a lot that reminds me of Premier League teams in terms of their attributes, the physicality, the speed of their game, with their willingness to cross balls into the box and the energy in their team. I expect it to be a tough match.”

Chelsea are expected to rotate their squad with Billy Gilmour in contention.

“It will be nice if he can get some minutes, particularly over these two Champions League games in the remainder of the group stage,” added Lampard, who has no fresh injury concerns.

“Where do I see him? I see him hopefully coming back at the level he was at just before he got injured.

“He’s got a great attitude, he trains brilliantly, and he’s looking spot-on. He will compete with the rest of the midfielders.”
