Shane Richie's wife stunned by his change amid his fears of being 'judged' on I'm A Celeb

Shane Richie’s wife Christie Richie has pointed out the ways in which I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has transformed her other half for the better.

Christie admitted she has felt “really surprised” by how much weight the former EastEnders actor has lost in the castle.

She also gushed over changes she has noticed in Shane’s confidence after he admitted his fears about being “judged” for being himself on the reality TV show.

Christie revealed: “I am really surprised at how different he looks.

“We knew he would lose some weight and in some respects he went in there looking at it like a boot camp.”

She added: “To see that jawline after all these years, it was like greeting an old friend! I haven’t seen it in years. I wonder if he can keep all the weight off.

“He needs a good shave and a good scrub and a haircut but it does remind me of the old days when we first got together. I think he will love the way he looks and be thankful to have lost some weight.”

Christie went on to explain Shane, 56, was initially concerned about how viewers would feel about seeing him rather than Alfie Moon, the character he portrayed in the BBC soap.

She divulged: “Hand on heart he will, excuse the pun, be ‘over the moon’ that people have taken the time to vote for him.”
