Opening up on moving on professionally without his brother, Sajid Khan said, “I still don’t believe he’s no more and he’s not going to come back. That journey was so beautiful and it was so much fun. Now working has become more serious, there’s notbody to talk to, to have fun with, it has all become more serious. You’re alone now. It is very difficult also and very easy also, but somebody has to continue doing it for the family, our legacy, our name. A lot of my temparament will now be seen and the audience will hear that. The guy that was ten times better than me is no more, so now I’ll keep trying to give good music and when I feel I can’t, I’ll just go on a vacation.” Also Read – ‘I still WhatsApp and call Wajid,’ says brother Sajid Khan, remembering his composer partner

Talking about his new venture, IMPL, the Dabangg composer added, “Wajid used to love cricket, and he wanted to become a boweler since childhood and he was very good friends with a lot of cricketers like Azharuddin. Azhar had gifted him a ball and Dhoni gifted him a bat. And now, I’ve composed for all these leagues like IPL, CCL, Canada League. In fact, you can say the new show I’m doing, IPML, is like music’s IPL. I’m captaining the Delhi team, named Delihi Dilwalas, along with Neha Bhasin.” Also Read – Sajid Khan on brother Wajid Khan’s demise: Mere jigar ka tukda yeh pandemic le gaya

Revealing how he catches a glimpse of Wajid Khan, he concluded, “I think Salman bhai has tremendous confidence on both of us. I’m sureif I would not have been there, Salman bhai would’ve worked with Wajid. We also had that kind of relation with him, and when you have that kind of relation with each other, you belive with each other, that means a lot. Sometimes, when I jam with Salman bhai, I feel like Wajid has come. When we jam together, I feel liek Sajid-Wajid is there. There are so many videos there of Salman and I performing well. Even earlier, when I used not be sitting, and Wajid used to be alone, Salman bhai would become like me. The guy is a musical guy. He enjoys his music and music is a very strong part of life. And you get influences, dealing with each for so many years, you get influenced by each other’s personality.”

IPML is the first-of-its-kind music reality show, where teams of singers will battle it out in a league format. Six teams, representing different regions of India and owned by top celebs like Govinda, Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh and others, and captained by accomplished musicians like Sajid Khan, Kailash Kher, Ankit Tiwari, Neha Bhasin, etc. will compete against each other.
