Spain quarantine rules backlash: ‘Avoid Spain at all costs and watch their economy sink’
The Prime Minister mandated UK arrivals provide evidence of being full vaccinated or a negative PCR test to enter Spain amid growing concerns over the Delta variant spreading in the UK.
“Spain have treated our ex-pats so bad and they invested in their country,” one said.
“I will never holiday in Spain – they can whistle for my money.”
One claimed, “Spain needs to make their mind up what they want”.
They wrote: “I was in Mallorca last week. Closed shops and restaurants and much fewer people around than in previous years. Plane coming over to Mallorca was barely half full.
“They’ve almost certainly got the Delta variant already and have probably had it for some time but do not have the sophisticated techniques to identify it like we do in the UK.
Another said: “I sail to Spain on Thursday with my wife.
“Fortunately, we are both double vaccinated and we looked at the paperwork that is required to enter Spain. We applied for paper copies of our vaccination records which arrived in the timeframe specified.
“However, some children over the age of 12 haven’t been vaccinated and I feel for them. If adults could have been vaccinated and refused, I have no sympathy unless they have an ongoing medical problem that restricts them from receiving the jab.
“As matters stand, when we come home in September, we will need three COVID 19 Tests. which will cost around £600. I feel that this is a money-making racket as the cost of a test is far lower than the prices being asked. Not only that, it will probably be out of the reach of many families. It seems very unfair and the government which is asking people to take as many free COVID tests as they like could have done something about it.”
