State Pension warning: Britons must find extra £1,000 a year for

Now, pensioners are being warned that despite the planned government increase to the state pension sum, it may not be enough to achieve a comfortable retirement.
Research undertaken by retirement specialist Just Group, has revealed pensioners will still need an extra £1,373 a year to achieve acceptable income later in life.
The organisation said those receiving the full rate of the new state pension can expect to get £9,339 per year from the government after contributing throughout their working lifetimes.
However, this is £1,373 less than the Minimum Income Standard, set at £10,712, published by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation as the minimum acceptable income per year for a single pensioner.
