Team ’83 remembers late Yashpal Sharma

Kabir Khan’s directorial ’83 is about the 1983 Cricket World Cup which was won by India. One of the main people to lead India to the finals of the prestigious cup was Yashpal Sharma. The ex-cricketer succumbed to a cardiac arrest this morning. He was 66 years old and passed away in New Delhi. 

Actor Ranveer Singh, Saqib Saleem and Jatin Sarna who plays Yashpal Sharma’s character in ’83 took to social media to send their condolences to the cricketer’s family. 

Jatin wrote, “This is not done sir, no not fair and God you too not fair. Yashpal sir can’t believe, you can not leave so soon. The innings was still left, I was supposed to visit you at your home, had to watch the film together, observe your expressions,” “We all had to scream your name, the world would’ve gotten to know who this tiger is… You will be remembered. History will never forget you.”

’83’s official Instagram handle wrote, “Yashpal ji, your contribution towards making the entire nation proud will always be remembered. Our deepest condolences to family and friends. Rest in peace paaji,”

While Ranveer Singh shared a picture of the ace cricketer with a heart broken emoji.
