The Aaron Rodgers-Packers drama may be finally nearing its end

The Aaron Rodgers-Packers will-they-won’t-they offseason drama may finally reach its conclusion.

The Packers quarterback has set a timeline for his status for the upcoming season. With the Packers holding their first training camp practice on July 28, Rodgers hopes to have an answer on his future before then.

“Well, I’m going to enjoy the hell out of this week,” Rodgers told NBC Sports. “And then I’m gonna get back to working out and figure things out in a couple weeks.”

While still something of a non-answer, this is the closest Rodgers has been to offering a definitive answer on his future in Green Bay after an offseason of question marks and vague answers, and it could indicate that there’s a good chance Rodgers will show up

Rodgers has been absent from Packers offseason activities amid drama with the team, with no certain genesis of the rift between the team and the quarterback.

Some reports suggest that Rodgers was disappointed that the team drafted quarterback Jordan Love in 2020, while others suggest that he wants GM Brian Gutekunst canned. Trade rumors have swirled, with the Broncos and Raiders emerging as potential landing spots for the reigning MVP. The Packers have, reportedly, denied any requests to trade for him.

Should Rodgers hold out for the 2021 season, he’ll be losing out on $35 million in salary. That’s a pretty heavy chunk of change.

The suspsense is terrible.
