This Week’s Best Dressed Stars Embraced Bold, Summery Hues

Though summer officially kicked off in late June, this Fourth of July long weekend—filled with family picnics, BBQs, and beach days—really marks the beginning of the season. Now that it’s hot and sunny out, it’s high time for summery clothes to emerge, where the fabrics are flowy and the colors are kept light and bright. Celebrities certainly adhered to this spirit this week: The best dressed stars embraced seasonal hues that instantly made an impact.

The highlights of the week were the colorful frocks that demanded a double-take—much like Danai Gurira’s ruffled yellow Alexander McQueen gown, or Hailey Bieber’s hot-pink Versace minidress (Barbie herself would be proud). Sprightly prints also had a moment this week, as seen with Sofia Carson’s floral Giambattista Valli gown, as well as shimmering silvers, evidenced by Selena Gomez’s floor-length Michael Kors Collection design. Subtlety? She was MIA this week.

However, it’s not to say a classic LBD or two didn’t make waves this week. Adele—performing her first public concert in five years at Hyde Park—shined in her halter-style Schiaparelli gown, as did Victoria Beckham in her own black lace design, seen at the recent Jacquemus show in France. What these garments lacked in color, they made up for with interesting silhouettes that showed a dash of skin. It is summer, after all!
