Tottenham considering Christian Eriksen return and could include two outcasts in transfer

Tottenham could consider bringing Christian Eriksen back from Inter Milan in the January transfer window, according to reports from Italy. Eriksen has struggled to recapture his past Spurs form since joining the Nerazzurri, and two of Jose Mourinho’s outcasts could be involved in a potential swap deal.

Eriksen left north London for Inter in a £24million deal in January, despite Tottenham’s efforts to retain the midfielder.

But the 28-year-old playmaker has struggled to adapt to Antonio Conte’s tactics and has started just four games so far this season, having scored only once in 22 Serie A appearances.

Former Chelsea boss Conte is regularly quizzed on his plans for Eriksen during pre-match press conferences, and the player himself has insisted he is not happy to play a bit-part role.

Eriksen’s plight at Inter is in contrast to his form over seven years with Tottenham, for whom he scored 69 goals and notched 89 assists in 305 appearances.
