Universal Credit: Payment will change in 2021 - but Boris Johnson urged to keep £20 uplift

“And looking further ahead, the decision on whether to keep the UC boost will help define whether this is to be a parliament of ‘levelling up’ living standards, or pushing up poverty.”
Nonetheless, the DWP recently outlined the planned increases to the Universal Credit payment scheduled to take place in the 2021/22 tax year.
Single people under 25 will receive £257.33, instead of £256.05, with the sum rising from £323.22 to £324.84 for older singles.
Joint claimants where both are under 25 will see an increase from £401.92 to £403.93 under current plans.
