Universal Credit warning: DWP back payments may reduce income - full details on rules

To be eligible for Universal Credit initially, a claimant will need to be on a low income or out of work entirely.
They will also need to be aged between 18 and state pension age.
Claimants with between £6,000 and £16,000 in savings will be eligible for Universal Credit but they will see their payments reduce the more they have put away.
Those with more than £16,000 in savings will not be eligible for Universal Credit.
