Universal Credit work allowance: What is the work allowance and how much is it?

The amount one receives is contingent on one’s income and the circumstances of all households members.
However, there are two important aspects which come into play when calculating your net earnings and other income which impact your Universal Credit: the Work Allowance and Taper Rate.
Any earnings one receives below the work allowance is ignored.
Earnings above the work allowance amount are subject to a taper of 63 percent.
