Vaccine Damage Payment: What is the Vaccine Damage Payment and how much could you claim?

Vaccine Damage Payment is a seldom-awarded lump sum for people who have suffered from the adverse effects of a vaccine. While rare, complications from vaccines are possible, with the Government’s benefit designed to cover those who suffer disabilities after the fact. The amount of money people receive could cover several year’s salaries.

If their application is successful, they will get a lump sum of £120,000.

But they will have to meet the requirements laid down by the Government.
They state people must be at least 60 percent disabled as a direct result of receiving one of over 18 vaccinations, including those for measles, diphtheria and TB.
Doctors and hospitals will have to provide evidence of direct causation, whether the disability is physical or mental.
The Government specifies most people will have most vaccinations in the UK and Isle of Man before their 18th birthday.
Fact-checkers with Full Fact corroborated the findings of a Freedom of Information (FOI) request in 2019 which purported to show Government payouts of more than £74 million since 1978.
The FOI shows more than 900 payments between 1978 and 2017 amounting to £74,130,000 in total.
Immunocompromised people typically experience the extreme reactions which warrant such payments, but Government advice warns them against taking the live vaccines which could endanger them.
Overall, experts state not getting vaccinated poses more of a risk, as one in 5,000 children who contract measles will develop encephalitis, compared to one in a million who take the vaccine.
