Valorant New Agent Leaks Are Surprising and Scary: Riot Games

Riot Games India boss Sukamal Pegu weighed in on the leaks surrounding the new Valorant agent teased by the company during E3 2021, claiming they were both surprising and scary. In what seemed to be a pre-recorded interview that was broadcast during the Penta Esports Valorant Invitational Finals, Pegu also hinted that we should see more of the new hero soon.

“It’s going to be super cool agent, it’s going to catch a lot of people by surprise,” he says. “It is going to happen very soon…I’ve been seeing a lot of the posts and things that have been leaked per se and something I’m surprised about how imaginative people are and at the same time , also scary to see how imaginative people are.”

In addition to this he admitted that Valorant’s popularity in India took the company by surprise.

“I still can’t believe the popularity the game has,” he admitted before talking about the new agent. You can check out the interview right here.

That said, the uptick in Valorant in India was obvious to esports pros in the country.

The hero-based competitive shooter has seen a surge of popularity in India since its launch with a host of CSGO pros shifting to it.

“Riot is also thorough with its feedback from the community, taking note of what we liked and didn’t like, which is a good sign,” said esports pro Ankit ‘V3nom’ Panth in a recent interview with IGN India. “So most of my teammates were ready to make the switch.”

Panth found the transition to Valorant easy, competing in a few tournaments and doing well enough to warrant playing further.

“If you compare it to CS, I think shooting was much more easier in this, it was not like a big ask for me,” he said. “Because my role in Counter-Strike also was an entry fragger. So for me shooting was kind of very easy in this game. And we only needed to learn more agents and map awareness.”
