Volkswagen dealerships gear up for Taigun SUV launch

Volkswagen India has begun revamping all of its outlets in the country, ahead of the launch of the Taigun mid-size SUV, one of the most important VW products for India in a long time.

  • All VW outlets to get better connectivity and digitization
  • VW staff to be trained with new tech and better customer orientation
  • VW Taigun will be the first model for India with new logo

Volkswagen’s new brand design: what is it?

The latest iteration of the VW logo was released back in 2019 where the brand transitioned from the previous three-dimensional form to a completely flat 2D design, reducing the logo to only its essential elements. The new logo features a deeper tone of blue and the flat design is representative of the brand’s new identity that is more personalized, more data driven and more connected. This is, in fact, the ninth iteration of VW’s logo since it was first introduced in 1937.

With the new logo Volkswagen India aims to make dealerships more attractive and vibrant to the new and existing customers. Through increased digitization at dealerships, Volkswagen India aims at providing customers easy access of information such as specifications, pricing, financing, and servicing needs, offline as well as online. Volkswagen India has also said that it will be providing behavioural training to its entire staff, including frontline personnel like salesmen and service advisors, to make them more customer oriented and digitally sound.

Volkswagen Taigun to debut new logo in India

Internationally, Volkswagen’s new logo debuted with the all-electric ID.3 hatchback. Here in India, the upcoming Taigun mid-size will be the first model to debut the new logo. The Taigun is the Volkswagen Group’s second product for our market under the India 2.0 project with the first one being the recently launched Skoda Kushaq SUV.

Upcoming Volkswagen launches in India: 2021 and beyond

Following the launch of the much-awaited Taigun, Volkswagen will also be bringing back the five-seater Tiguan SUV to India, this time in a facelifted guise with refreshed styling, more equipment and a powerful 2.0-litre TSI engine. Volkswagen is also working on a replacement for the Vento, which will be based on the MQB-A0-IN platform and will be a huge step-up from the current car. It is expected to go on sale by early 2022.
