What time is the Belmont Stakes today? Post time, TV channel, horses & more to watch 2021 race
It is time for the final leg of the Triple Crown.
On Saturday, eight horses will line up at Belmont Park hoping to capture the win at the 153rd running of the Belmont Stakes.
Not among them will be Medina Spirit, the winner of the Kentucky Derby after The New York Racing Association banned trainer Bob Baffert and Medina Spirit from entering the race after it tested positive for 21 picograms of betamethasone after the Derby.
There would not have been a Triple Crown winner in 2021 even if Medina Spirit had raced, however, as the Kentucky Derby winner placed third in the Preakness Stakes, two spots behind Rombauer.
This race will not only be short Medina Spirit. It was also announced that Rebel’s Romance will also not be racing due to an infection.
Following the absences, Essential Quality enters as the favorite to win the Belmont Stakes at 2/1 odds, while Rombauer is second at 3/1. Hot Rod Charlie is third at 7/2 odds.
