When is Winter Fuel Payment paid?

The Government website explains most payments are made automatically in November or December.

You should get your money by January 14, 2022.

If the money is not paid into your account by this date, contact the Winter Fuel Payment Centre.

How do you apply for Winter Fuel Payment?

Those eligible don’t usually need to claim Winter Fuel Payment.

  • you only get Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction, Child Benefit or Universal Credit
  • you get benefits or a State Pension but live in Switzerland or an EEA country
