WWE Smackdown – SmackDown Results & Highlights:

The Usos vs. The Mysterio’s for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship (Rematch): Jimmy and Dominik yet again started the proceedings, with Jimmy going for two quick pinfalls. The Usos looked more focused this time around and not giving any opportunity to Dominik. Jey who was tagged in by his brother sent Dominik out of the ring and dived on him from the middle rope.

After the commercial, Dominik was struggling in the middle of the ring with Jey in control. When he was about to throw Dominik on the other corner, the Jr. Mysterio countered the move and tagged his father in. Rey gave some momentum to his time and went for a Baseball slide on Jimmy outside the ring. He then hit him with a 619 and tagged Dominik to set up a frog splash. But just when Dominik was about to jump from the turnbuckle, Reigns came in and hit Dominik with a Superman punch to disqualify the match.

He then took on the father-son duo outside the ring and hit them with steel stairs. He continued the assault on Dominik inside the ring and passed him out. Jimmy didn’t like Roman assaulting Dominik and moved outside the ring unamused. Result: Rey and Dominik retained their titles via Disqualification.

Crews took the early momentum by hitting an already injured Owens. Crews specifically attacked Owens on his ribs and abdomen which were assaulted backstage. Owens, however, came back strong with a Swanton bomb and looked for a pop-up powerbomb. However, his injured ribs didn’t allow the move to take place.

Apollo was sent out of the ring and when Owens approached him, Crews slammed the former Universal champion on the ground with a back suplex. After the commercial break, Owens was still struggling, but this time in the ring. Crews then hit him with a belly-to-belly suplex and German suplex. Owens then replied with a German suplex of his own. He then tried a failed Moonsault attempt and gave Apollo yet another chance to get in the match. Crews then tried a frog splash but failed. This gave Owens the much-needed opening.

Owens then hit two superkicks and a powerbomb but couldn’t secure a pin. In the closing moment, Crews targeted the ribs of Owens by slamming him on the apron and secured a pinfall victory. After the match, Sami Zayn came out and hit an injured Owens with a Helluva Kick.

WWE SmackDown Results: Apollo Crews won the match via Pinfall and retained his title.

King Corbin vs. Shinsuke Nakamura: A furious Corbin lashed out on Nakamura. He was beating the hell out of him as he was furious that Nakamura has been troubling him for the past three weeks or so. Corbin even clotheslined Boogs outside the ring and eventually was able to beat Nakamura with a roll-up pin. After the match, when Corbin was escaping with his crown, Boogs grabbed him from his left leg and Nakamura hit Corbin to take the Crown from him.

WWE SmackDown Results: Corbin won via Pinfall.

Bianca Belair is in the ring: Bianca was amused by the fact that Bayley always laughs at her. She addressed the fact that Bayley is playing mind games with her. She then rolled back years saying this is what she has faced all her life because she was strong, muscular, and better than everyone else, and that is why she won championships after championships all her life. She said, no one has ever laughed at her face, and what Bayley is doing is utter disrespect. She went on to challenge Bayley for a championship bout at Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.

Bayley was live via satellite. She said that she has been laughing at people like her (Bianca) all her life. She accepted Bianca’s challenge and said after she beat her at Hell in a Cell, she will be the only one laughing.

The Mysterio’s vs. The Usos (Smackdown Tag Team Championship): Dominik started things off against Jimmy. Jimmy started with a shoulder tackle, while Dominik started with a dropkick. Dominik then tagged Rey in and Jimmy also tagged Jey. Rey found it hard to get going and was beaten by the twin brothers simultaneously. He was also the target of Jey’s cheap shot when he hit Rey from the outside while the master of ‘619’ was reeling on the bottom rope. Before going to the ad break, Rey was put on the commentary table by Jey via a Samoa Drop.

After the commercial, Rey was still struggling on The Usos corner as they were beating the hell out of him. Rey was consistently struggling to give the tag to his son, on the other hand, Jimmy & Jey were easily tagging each other. However, Rey finally got a chance to tag Dominik when Jey was stuck into the turnbuckle. Dominik changed the momentum altogether. He took on both the Usos by diving outside the ring. However, Dominik’s momentum was stopped with a pop-up Samoan drop. However, The Mysterio’s again changed the momentum, and just when Jimmy was about to finish things up with a frog splash, Dominik rolled him up for a pin to secure the win. However, in the replay, Jimmy’s right shoulder was clearly up from the mat, but the referee’s mistake cost him the match.

WWE SmackDown Result: Dominik pinned Jimmy to pick up a victory for his team and retain the titles.

Roman Reigns kicked off the night

Universal Champion Roman Reigns kicked off the show. Reigns came out and warned Jimmy to win his Smackdown Tag Team Championship tonight. As the twin brother entered the ring, Jey hugged Roman but Jimmy didn’t. Roman asked Jimmy to acknowledge him but he didn’t, instead, he said that he already did acknowledge him when he was chocked by him at Hell in a Cell pay-per-view in 2020. Roman was bemused but he just warned Jimmy, who called the shot for the titles, that he better wins the Tag Team Gold tonight.
