Zoe Ball admits she escaped arrest after being caught dancing wearing 'only an overcoat'

Zoe Ball, 50, has opened up about her “closest brush with the law”. The BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show presenter reflected on her wilder days in the 90s and revealed she was “almost arrested” in London.

The Strictly: It Takes Two host was only wearing a pair of thigh-high boots and an overcoat while showing off her dancing skills in Camden at the time.

Zoe admitted she made the risky move after drinking Absinthe, which is a highly alcoholic beverage.

She candidly recalled: “I was almost arrested in Camden in the 90s. 

“I was caught dancing on a wall in only thigh-high boots and an overcoat.

“For someone who was such a party animal in the 90s I also hear that a wild night for you now is curled up on the sofa watching Gardeners’ World with a cup of tea.

“Well, you’ve discovered where the real party is! Have a lovely day Zoe and make sure that you get out in the garden and plant some tulips.”

“That’s a great thing to be doing now and a very, very happy 50th, bye bye,” he signed off.

Zoe, who shares two children Woody, 19, and Nelly, 10, from her marriage to ex DJ Norman Cook, aka Fatboy Slim, decided to quit booze in 2009.

The DJ said: “I wanted to have a big old shebang – a club or a disco, and cocktails.

“That has all been put on hold because of the dreaded c-word. I’ll just have to do it next year.”

“I personally love the fact I can’t go out any more,” she continued to The Mirror. “I was doing it for 30 years.”
