Aldis Hodge Turned the Zegna Men’s Show Into an At-Home Photo Shoot

Over the past year, we’ve grown accustomed to dressing up to sit in front of our computers. The front row has turned virtual, but that doesn’t mean you can’t look the part from the comfort of your own home. One Night in Miami actor Aldis Hodge slipped into a snazzy look to watch Ermenegildo Zegna’s new spring 2022 menswear film on Friday—just him, good clothes, and his laptop. Lucky for us, Hodge documented the whole affair for Vogue.

On Friday, Zegna’s artistic director Alessandro Sartori debuted his latest assortment of men’s pieces, featuring plenty of relaxed tailoring and breezy summer separates. Hodge watched the new collection film when it dropped, and he was instantly drawn to the clothes’s subtle, modern detailing. “The material choices, color palettes, and shape language were all quite interesting in subtle yet eye-catching ways,” Hodge says. “I think they recreated a new way to look at a summer suit.”

Knowing he would be taking in a sleek men’s line, Hodge dressed the part in a utilitarian Zegna jacket paired with a simple tee and the label’s luxe, triple-stitched sneakers. “The Chore jacket has a bit of a tailored fit, so it really shapes the body well,” he says. “The shoes are also super comfortable and the tee is fitted—all just how I like to wear my clothes. Fitted yet comfy.” He plans to continue this fashion vibe throughout the summer. “My summer vibe is going to be comfortable, unique, and interesting,” Hodge says. “I like to wear visual art. I love clothes that push design DNA and the ‘idea’ of what fashion is and can be.”

Not that he’ll have tons of time to focus on fits this summer, though. The actor is set to have a busy next few months (“Working hard and playing hard,” he says), starting with a few film projects. “I’m going to finish production on Black Adam whilst preparing to begin production on Parallel with my brother, Edwin Hodge,” he says. “I will also be prepping for season three of City on a Hill on Showtime.” In between all the filming, Hodge will also be managing his conceptual art studio, titled 9b. “We’ve taken on several feature film and animated projects that are starting within the next few weeks,” he says. Oh, yeah, he’s launching a watch brand—called A. Hodge Atelier—as well. “I’m almost done with developing the movement,” Hodge says. “I have a prototype and the finished product will be here very, very soon. Can’t wait!” Neither can we.
