Camilla Parker Bowles ‘low and tired-sounding’ in latest video for new book project
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, 73, joined the Royal Family when she married Prince Charles in 2005. With more than 15 years experience in the family, a body language expert has shared how she still displays signs of anxiousness.
Sharing a video to the Duchess of Cornwall’s Reading Room Instagram page, the royal sat in her chair and spoke about her own love for reading.
She has already attracted more than 30,000 people to her page, where four recommended books will be unveiled each season, with the first four out today.
Camilla said: “Hello and welcome to my reading room. To me, reading is a great adventure.
“I’ve loved it since I was very small and I’d love everybody else to enjoy it as much as I do.

“Sitting slightly slumped in her chair and using a slow, low and tired-sounding vocal tone, Camilla appears to avoid injecting any signals of motivational energy into this launch.”
Camilla will often attend royal events and engagements and is patron to many charities and has had much experience in delivering speeches.
The Duchess’ entry into the Royal Family was not the easiest but the royal has become increasingly popular in recent years.
However according to the body language expert, the new video appearance from Camilla didn’t seem passionate at all.
Sharing her new project, Judi explained that she is struggling to explain the importance of books.
The expert said that this is evident “especially in the clip where her eye-gaze moves from the camera to an out-of-sight interviewer and she uses metronomic nods to signal she’s battling slightly to put her points into words and needs a response of agreement to help her out as she is searching.
“She even throws her hands out at the end as though assuming we should all get it.”
The expert added that although she is in a cosy setting, sitting in a comfortable chair, she has extremely “low energy”.
Judi explained: “Camilla’s low energy doesn’t look aimed at inspiring a younger market.
“Her hand gesture is a forward-pointing steeple and it is a signature one from the Duchess.
“It always looks taught, as though it is the gesture Camilla has decided is a good use for her hands when she appears in public, especially as without it she can tend to employ a very anxious-looking, self-comfort thumb-rub ritual.”
The common hand gesture used by Camilla is to help her in her delivery of speech according to Judi.
“The joined fingertips and the thumbs here suggest much more precise, exact thinking that she is illustrating via her hesitant delivery and the gesture is also a status signal that will normally suggest superiority and a desire to keep people at a distance,” the expert added.
