Coldplay and Others Will Be Performing at Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks Show

With summer in full swing, one of the season’s most exciting events is officially here. Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks show will illuminate the New York City skyline tonight.

After a downsized celebration last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the annual Independence Day festivity is back in its traditional, grandeur way. The two-hour televised event will feature “an electrifying light show” to honor “America’s everyday heroes from communities across the country.” More than 65,000 shells will be launched in synchronization to a patriotic musical score performed with the United States Army Field Band & Soldiers’ Chorus. Classics like “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “America the Beautiful” will be played to pay tribute to “the resilient spirit in all of us.”

Ahead of the dazzling fireworks, the nationwide special will also have a star-studded lineup with pre-recorded performances by Coldplay, Reba McEntire, OneRepublic, Black Pumas and Tori Kelly.

Can’t wait for the spectacular night? Here’s what you need to know about the 45th Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks event:
