In the middle of Freddie telling a story, host Jimmy Kimmel got distracted when he spotted a gold band on the 29-year-old British actor’s left hand. “I’m looking at your wedding ring right now,” he said. “That’s a wedding ring, yes?”

“Yes, it is a wedding ring. Yes, I got married,” Freddie said. “It’s funny. Ever since I’ve been wearing this ring people have been asking me if I’m married. So, I figured I should clarify it.”

He continued: “I’m not gonna jump up and down on the couch on the talk show and express my excitement that way. I know that you do that in America. But I’m as happy as a Brit can be, and I’m married to a very wonderful woman now, so yes I feel very happy.”

The Charlie and The Chocolate Factory star also revealed that his wife, who he married this past summer, is also British but didn’t share more details about her.

Needless to say, fans were both elated and in disbelief after hearing Freddie subtly drop this personal news. “I can’t believe he’s actually married 😭 our little Charlie is all grown up,” one person wrote. “I’m so happy for Freddie.
