Freddie Highmore is the main character in ABC’s The Good Doctor, portraying autistic surgeon Dr Shaun Murphy. The show is about Shaun’s personal and professional development as he works at San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital. Although he struggles with understanding some of the “social norms”, his friends and colleagues are often at hand to give Shaun support and guidance.

Highmore was born in 1992 to a family who was already very much involved in showbusiness.
The young actor’s mum Sue Latimer is a talent agent who represents Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, while his dad Eddie Highmore has been in shows such as Doctor Who and Howard’s Way.
So it is clear where Highmore got his love of acting from at an early age.
He got his first major on-screen role in 1999 when he starred alongside Helena Bonham Carter in movie Women Talking Dirty.
But little did he know that he would later work with Bonham Carter on a film which made him an international star.

Highmore went on to feature in Two Brothers in 2004 with actor Guy Pearce.

He then won himself the starring role in the 2005 reboot of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as the titular character.
Highmore acted again with both Bonham Carter and Depp and won himself a loyal fanbase thanks to the blockbuster.
Shortly after Bates Motel came to an end, Highmore then started working on The Good Doctor which he is still starring in today.
His talents haven’t only been in front of the camera though as he wrote two episodes of Bates Motel, another for The Good Doctor and produced 23 others of the ABC series.
Keeping all of this in mind, according to Celebrity Net Worth, Freddie Highmore has a net worth of around $4million (£2,995,140).
This is bound to keep rising though as Highmore has got projects in the pipeline for 2021.
Going by the actor’s IMDB page, he will be starring in new TV series Leonardo, portraying someone called Stefano Giraldi.
The synopsis for the show reads: “The series recounts Leonardo da Vinci’s extraordinary life through the works that made him famous, through the stories hidden within those works, revealing little by little the inner torment of a man obsessed with attaining perfection.”
Poldark actor Aidan Turner will be portraying Leonardo da Vinci himself in the new drama.
