George Clooney wedding: Inside his lavish £3million nuptials to wife Amal

George Clooney and Amal Clooney met in July 2013 when they were introduced by a mutual friend. The following year they married in a stunning Italian wedding.

What was the wedding like?

Although the couple opted for a private ceremony, some details are known about the event.

It took place at the Aman Canal Grande luxury resort in Venice.

Renting the venue with lighting, tables and production was believed to cost around £220,000.

The star-studded event was attended by the couple’s celebrity friends, including Brad Pitt, Robert De Niro and Matt Damon.

Guests tucked into a luxury five-course Italian dinner at the cost of around £200 per person.

What was the dress like?

Amal said “I do” in a custom made dress by designer Oscar de la Renta.

After the wedding the gown was briefly showcased in an Oscar de la Renta exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts.

On the wedding day, George also wore a luxury outfit which had been custom made.

He wore a black suit with a white shirt, completed with a black bow tie.
