Hallmark Just Signed Two Major Stars After Candace Cameron Bure’s Exit to GAC

As GAC Media continues to strike deals with Hallmark’s biggest stars, including the Queen of Christmas herself Candace Cameron Bure, the Hallmark Channel is making big moves of its own.

Not long after news broke that the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries actress had signed a deal with GAC to act, produce and star in movies and TV shows for the network, the parent company of the Hallmark Channel, Crown Media Family Networks, announced that it has negotiated exclusive deals with two actresses — Aimee Teegarden and Taylor Cole.

Aimee, who is most recognizable for her portrayal of Julie Taylor on Friday Night Lights and has previously starred in Hallmark originals like My Christmas Family Tree and A New Year’s Resolution, is set to star in several upcoming movies for the Hallmark Channel, including the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries original Heart of the Matter. Meanwhile, Taylor is also set to appear in several upcoming Hallmark projects, too. Hallmark fans might already recognize Taylor for her work in the 2021 films Making Spirits Bright and South Beach Love.

Online, fans of the two actresses are celebrating the big news. “Yyeessss!!! Just watched you in Making Spirits Bright. Love every movie you’re in. Can’t wait for more! ❤️👏,” one fan wrote to Taylor on her recent Instagram. “Aimee is incredibly talented – love her!❤️,” another said on Instagram.

Aimee and Taylor are staying put at Hallmark as several fan favorites from the network have moved over to GAC in the past few months. Parade notes that in addition to Candace, Danica McKellar, Jen Lilley, Jessica Lowndes and Trevor Donovan have all signed multi-picture deals with GAC. Not only that, but GAC has even picked up some of Hallmark’s content, as well. After season 1 of When Hope Calls wrapped up, GAC promptly swooped in to pick up season 2. What’s more, the network aired a holiday-themed When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas movie last year and picked up the rights to The Kitten Bowl.

What does this mean for the future of Hallmark? Time will tell, but with the most recent Taylor and Aimee announcements, it looks like the network is retaining some of its top talent ahead of its 2022 holiday movie season.
