Kate Middleton Is a Vision in a Cream Skirt Suit During a Rare Outing With Princess Anne

Duchess Kate is making a rare public outing with Princess Anne today to meet with London-based women’s health care organizations.

Kate, who is patron of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and Anne, who is patron of the Royal College of Midwives, will hear from representatives at both colleges on the pioneering technology and methods they’re working on to improve maternal health.

For the occasion, the Duchess of Cambridge stepped out in a cream-colored belted skirt suit featuring floral embellishments on the jacket from sustainable London-based label Self-Portrait. She accessorized with pearl drop earrings from Annoushka, a matching pearl necklace, a beige clutch, and suede pumps.

Meanwhile, the Princess Royal wore a blue coat dress with a floral shawl.

The two are meeting with workers from Tommy’s National Centre for Maternity Improvement to learn about the development of digital tools that could potentially identify and support women experiencing high-risk pregnancies. They are also meeting with partners from the Avoiding Brain Injury in Childbirth collaboration to touch on the national approach to monitoring a fetus’s health during labor.

Additionally, the visit will see Kate and Anne participate in a roundtable discussion with experts and new mothers, in which the group will talk about inequalities in maternity care.

The duchess is known for her passion about early childhood development, having long worked on projects that increase awareness and drive research into the field. Last June, Kate took her charitable work to the next level by announcing The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.

“My own journey into understanding the importance of early childhood actually started with adults, and not with children,” she explained in a video posted to the Cambridges’ Instagram account last year. “It was about prevention. I wanted to understand what more we could do to help prevent some of today’s toughest social challenges, and what more we could do to help with the rising rates of poor mental health.”
