McDonald’s launch new service to stop queuing at all drive-thru restaurants

McDonald’s has announced a new system called ‘Click & Serve’ which will help customers avoid the long queues that can build up at restaurants and drive-thru.

McDonald’s said that the new system is a “nostalgic nod” to when the fast food company launched its first ever restaurant back in the 1940s.

The restaurant which was first introduced to San Bernardino, California also had a carhop service and delivered McDonald’s orders to customers’ cars.

The move comes after McDonald’s was closed for three months at the start of the pandemic and fans had long queues when it reopened in May.

The eatery also recently advised customers on their Christmas opening times – with some even being open on Christmas Day.

“This means that some of our restaurants may close a little earlier on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, and open a little later on Boxing Day.”

Similar to McDonalds, NatWest also announced a new system that they’re introducing to help stop queues at bank branches.

Since the start of the pandemic, NatWest has seen an influx in customers using their digital, mobile and online support channels.

With the introduction of the virtual queue, customers who visit a branch can join the queue with the use of their smartphone.

This is done so by scanning a QR code that will be visible at a NatWest branch.
