Pound starts week a

Though the threat of a “no deal” has resulted in significant losses for sterling in the past, it has started the week “with a significant gap higher” than the euro.
Michael Brown, currency expert at Caxton FX spoke exclusively with Express.co.uk to share his exclusive insight.
He explained: “Sterling has started the week with a significant gap higher, presently trading an entire big figure above Friday’s lows, as the market reacts positively to news that the Brexit can has been kicked down the road once again, and that a cliff-edge scenario has been avoided.
“Despite there being a busy week of UK data ahead, including November’s inflation and retail sales figures, and a BoE decision due, UK-EU talks are set to remain the sole driver of the pound, as time continues to tick down to the 31 December deadline.”
