Princess Anne has been a working royal since she was just 18-years-old. She is the younger sister of Prince Charles, who is first in line to the throne.

During such outings, body language expert Judi James commented on the difference between the royal siblings.

“Her body language signals with her brother Charles suggested – almost from birth – she was the one who had been gifted all the confidence,” she told Express.co.uk.

“While Charles looked dreamy, shy and hesitant Anne looked bubbling with happy self-esteem.”

Princess Anne and Prince Charles may be the most similar in age of the Queen’s children, but the expert suggested some key differences between the two.

The expert said their contrasting personalities could affect how they act in their working roles.

She claimed Prince Charles’ attitude could make him better suited for a role on the throne.

Judi added: “I’d love to say Anne would, for her spirit and aura of strength and grit, but I don’t think she would have made a great Queen for our times.

“At present, the job is all about winning smiles and bright coloured coats.

“It’s about suppressing your true feelings and being unendingly polite and charming and keeping out of controversy.”

The expert added Prince Charles may find the duties expected of the monarch easier than his sister.

Judi continued: “Neither Anne nor Charles display the kind of body language signals that make them naturals for the job of crown-wearing but I’m sure Anne would struggle more than her brother.

“Charles has managed to overcome some of his body language signals that imply self-pity and either diffidence or arrogance, and replace them with a very kindly-looking eye-wrinkling smile and chuckle which suggests warmth and affection.

“The thought of an ever-smiling, ever-chuckling Anne is almost inconceivable though.”

While Judi claimed the royals have different personalities, she explained their bond may have grown in recent years.

She said: “Anne and Charles will probably never be the closest brother and sister, but they are beginning to look as though shared goals in terms of their love and sense of duty to their mother and a desire to sustain the image of the royal firm have brought them closer together, along with the obvious affection Anne’s daughter Zara seems to have for her uncle Charles.

“Recently there does seem to be an element of affectionate humour between Charles and his sister and it will often include their mother.

“Charles still looks very earnest but Anne’s piercing eye-gaze and grin suggests some gentle mocking which in turn suggests he might not be taking himself too seriously these days.”
