‘Really powerful’: Kate Middleton uses ‘important’ parenting trick with George & Charlotte
Prince George joined his parents to watch England v Germany at Wembley Stadium this week.
In December, all three children joined their parents for a pantomime in London.
During such outings, the Duke and Duchess could give a hint at their parenting style.
Speaking to Express.co.uk, child development expert, psychologist and founder of the Good Play Guide Dr. Amanda Gummer shared her expertise.
She suggested Kate’s parenting style is clearly very “powerful”.
The expert explained: “It’s lovely to see the Duchess demonstrate some really powerful parenting techniques.
“[For example] a focus on playfulness and meeting the children where they are at, getting down to their level and meeting their gaze when talking to them.”
There are lots of royal parenting traditions which have been followed over the years.
“It can be a real challenge for families growing up in the public eye to manage children’s natural behaviour,” she continued.
“The Duchess seems to be navigating that road well.”
The expert concluded Kate may focus on techniques to help promote the “positive mental health” of her children.
Dr Gummer said: “The interactions between her and her children seem genuine and consistent – both important for positive mental health.”
The royal line of succession – who outranks who?
The line of succession to the British throne dictates the order in which each member of the Royal Family would ascend to the throne.
It is also seen as a ranking of importance with the head of the line, the Queen, taking the place of ruler.
Older children come before younger children. Traditionally boys came before girls, but this law was changed on March 26, 2015 before the birth of Prince William’s first child.
Incredibly, Catholics are still excluded from the line of succession, as are children born outside of wedlock.
The royals, who usually stick to a strict protocol when appearing in public, often arrive at events in ascending order of importance, with the most important royal arriving last.
Prince Charles, 72, is currently first-in-line to the British throne, followed by Prince William, 39, his oldest son.
Then comes Prince William’s children, George, seven, Charlotte, six, and Louis, three, and they are followed by Prince Harry, 36. Prince Harry is succeeded by his son Archie Harrison, born in May 2019.
