Sainsbury’s issues shopping advice after high demand for Christmas delivery service

Sainsbury’s issues shopping advice after high demand for Christmas delivery service

Sainsbury’s has seen increased demand for its delivery service this year but has issued important advice on how customers can still get their festive shop if there are no slots available for their chosen day.

Sainsbury’s explained that customers can pick a Click & Collect slot up to three weeks in advance.

Shoppers can go in and amend their basket as many times as they would like up until 11pm the day before collection in case anything is forgotten.

However the supermarket will also have Christmas goods in-store for those still wishing to visit a Sainsbury’s.

There are also extended shopping hours in the lead up to Christmas to help ease the flow of customers in and out of stores.

Sainsburys said: “December is the busiest time of year for supermarkets and to minimise time spent queuing and to help make customers shopping experience smoother and quicker, Sainsbury’s is urging customers to shop alone, if they can.

“This will mean that everyone will spend less time queuing to get in.”

The supermarket is rewarding those who shop early with 10x Nectar points on longer life, store cupboard products like cranberry sauce, crackers and Christmas pudding.

These points can be claimed on various products until December 13.

Clodagh Moriarty, Retail and Digital Director at Sainsbury’s, said: “In a year like no other, we want to do everything we can to help our customers celebrate Christmas, making sure they have everything they need to make the festive season as special as possible.

“We also want to make sure customers and colleagues are kept safe, which is why we’re opening our stores for longer and encouraging people to shop early and asking them to shop alone, where possible, this Christmas.

“This will help customers get in and out of shops quickly and safely and make sure everyone has what they need in plenty of time for the big day.”
